Volunteer for the April Work Day

Our first work day is this Saturday! The gates open at 8 a.m., and we’ll have coffee and donuts first thing in the morning. We’ve got tasks for all ages and abilities. So far, the weather looks perfect – sunny and a high in the mid-50s.

The items below are suggestions from Building & Grounds. If you have another project in mind or can offer a unique skill to the club, please let us know!

Please fill out the form below if you plan to attend so we can get a rough idea of the number of people attending.

Yard Work

We have limited yard tools and work gloves; please bring your own if possible. We will have yard waste bags available for use.

  • Pick up sticks and rake the grass where needed (from the street to the back of the lot).
  • Remove overgrowth from the fence line.
  • Clean up front yard landscape beds (primarily those by the circle drive).
  • Clean up the edge of the volleyball court (pull grass overgrowth).

Fairway does not receive yard waste pickup services from the city. We greatly appreciate anyone who can take home a few yard waste bags to place at their curb.

Dirt Work

Like yard work – but with dirt!

  • Rake the rocks out of the berm at the north edge of the parking lot.
  • Spread grass seed and hay on the berm at the north edge of the parking lot (once raked).
  • Dig the border of the north pool deck fence line (B&G to provide details on site).
  • Dig the southern border of the pavilion and grill area.

Plumbing

  • Install new shower parts (valves, seats, shower heads).
  • Fix a leak under a sink in the men’s room.

Electrical

  • Replace the pull-chain switches in the pedestal fans.
